Description of event: Participants will choose from making a small screen print valentine, a linocut they carve out or a monotype with a small instructional lesson that will show them the basics. If time allows the artist can combine techniques. Then they print it out and take it home. We provide all the supplies.
Ages: All ages are welcome to make the prints! This is a family friendly event.
Parking: Plenty of parking in the parking lot. Enter via Patterson Street or Dunaway Street.
You make the print and take it home!
So attendees will learn the skills necessary to print a quick paper card. The card will be made with 65 gm archive white. The envelope will also be the same. The size of the card is 4 x 6 inches. Everyone will be able to make at least one, but can make more. You will print in red or black.
The screen print station card will be a pre-set image due to time and prep limitations. The ink will be speedball red. If artists want to print their own shirts they can bring their own to use.
The linocut station you will print with a 4 x 6 size block you carve out with a speedball lino cutter. We will provide Daniel smith brand black relief print ink, red relief printmaking and if the student wants to print a different color we have several to choose from. If participants want to make letters they will be shown how to transfer them in reverse.
The mono print station will be set up to use Lyra water soluble pastels with the image prepared onto plexiglass. If participants want to make letters they will be taught how to transfer them in reverse.
